Whimsy on a Wire is a home-based small business that my husband and I launched in the spring of 2002.  As a stay-at-home mom, I simply desired a creative outlet, and I began making jewelry as a hobby to satisfy this desire. The business was actually conceived early in 2002 as an effort to help defray some of the expenses of our first foreign adoption.  In July 2003 our dreams were realized and we traveled to China to adopt our fifth child, Grace!  We enjoyed the business so much that we decided to continue designing new jewelry pieces, attending outdoor art shows and offering home shows.  In fact, we had been so blessed by the whole experience that in September 2005 we returned to China to adopt our sixth child, baby Ellie, and a percentage of the proceeds from Whimsy on a Wire sales continue to support foreign adoption and Chinese orphans who are left behind.
